We laid our the twin bed sheet on a sheet of 4' x 8' styrofoam so the sheet would be easy to paint on.     We took the lid off a can of spray paint to use as a circle pattern and drew circles all over the black sheet at random.   We used a piece of white chalk to draw around the spray paint lid.       We first filled in each of the circles with white Gesso fabric paint.    (If you don't first prime the circles with Gesso, the fluorescent paint will not be as vivid if painted directly on the black fabric) When the Gesso paint dried, we painted over the white circles with fluorescent paint in random patterns.      We painted enough sheets to cover an 8' x 10' space including hanging the sheets on the ceiling.

We bought a large, black sweat suit (sweat pants and sweat shirt) from Walmart.    We laid the sweat suit on the sheet and, once again, drew circles at random with the spray paint can lid.      We followed the same procedure and filled in the circles with Gesso then covered the white paint with fluorescent colors.    This assures that the sweat suit will blend into the background once the sheets are hung.       In order to cover the face of the "Dot Man" we also purchased a black face mask stocking cap and put colored circles on that as well.     The "Dot Monsters" also wore black knit gloves to hide their hands.

The whole project took about 2 weeks to complete and is very easy to set up.   Simply staple the sheets around the walls of the room you're trying to camouflage.       Hang up a small black light in the center of the room on the ceiling (to minimize shadows) and place a small strobe light in a corner (preferably facing the doorway of those entering).      Your Dot character should remain as motionless as possible when the victims walk in the room.    Once they are disoriented, that is when "Dot" starts to move!
